Rubber Molding Processing

Traditional rubber molding refers to the process of transferring raw rubber materials into usable products through transfer, compression, or injection into metal molds. The traditional rubber molding process consists of 3 methods: rubber injection molding, rubber compression molding, and rubber transfer molding.

Sanken Provides Rubber Molding Services and Other Processing Services

At Sanken, in addition to processing rubber components in traditional processing methods, we also provide rubber die-cutting and adhesive processing. We have an experienced mold design and manufacturing team, with advanced processing equipment and experienced staff.

Overview of Common Rubber molding and Processing Methods

1.     Rubber injection molding

Rubber injection molding is very similar to the more well-known plastic injection molding process and is done by injecting fluid, uncured rubber into a mold. The rubber stays in the mold for a period of time until it vulcanizes into its final shape.

2.     Rubber compression molding

This is the simplest rubber molding process, where unsolidified rubber is pre-formed into a shape and placed into a mold. The mold is then heated and pressure is applied to form it into the final shape.

3.     Rubber transfer molding

This process involves placing a predetermined amount of unsolidified rubber into a transfer cylinder. The pre-formed part is pushed through passages and gates by closing the plunger and solidifying into the final shape.

4.     Rubber die-cutting molding

Rubber die-cutting molding is often used to machine precision rubber parts, and the rubber material is cut into the desired shape through a mold. In the rubber die-cutting molding process, we can produce rubber parts with different needs and shapes according to different molds. Rubber materials commonly used for die-cutting processing include different types of rubber materials such as silicone, EPDM, natural rubber, nitrile rubber, etc.

5.     Rubber backing processing

During the assembly and construction of some rubber components, we apply adhesive to the rubber component according to the need to ensure full bonding with other parts. This saves time and reduces production steps, maximizing work efficiency.

Common rubber products

Rubber components are crucial for sealing and damping, significantly improving product functionality and durability. Common types include:

Rubber rings: Round or ring-shaped components made from flexible rubber materials, commonly used for sealing purposes.

Application Areas

Rubber formed products have a wide range of applications and are valuable components in various industries. From electronics and automobile manufacturing to consumer appliances, rubber molding components are commonly used:

3C electronics: rubber molded components such as rubber rings, rubber gaskets, often used as sealing, shockproof and other functional components

Automotive: Many parts in automobiles use rubber components that contribute to vehicle durability, safety, and overall performance.

Home Appliances: Rubber molding is used in many household appliances due to its flexibility and durability, making it ideal for manufacturing seals and gaskets that prevent water, dust, and other contaminants from penetrating into sensitive electronic components, ensuring the longevity of appliances.

Medical: The use of rubber molding products in the medical field is endless, from seals and gaskets in equipment to providing fluid pathways, you can find rubber parts in just about everything medical related.
